So How Do You Know What is Inside Your Computer???
If you’re like most people, you
have a car you will know what make and model your car is, and if you don’t know
you can check this on your registration documents, but where do you look
for the information on your computer?
Well you could check the manual or search the manufacturer’s
website for the information that you need, but what happens if you had your
computer updated or there are differences in products runs meaning that there
is more than one revision and the specifications vary? Another common reason as
too why a specification of a computer can vary is that it has been updated already
or that a fault required parts to be replaced.
So how do you know?
You could take your laptop to a friend or colleague, with
the necessary skills to check, or more reliably you could take it too
a technician who will most likely charge you for the privilege.
Or you could simply follow the link to this simple and free to use program called Belarc Advisor, after you download
the program you need to install it and when it’s installed you should
see the following screen
Click on the yes button and the software will scan your system and when
it is finished it will open a webpage up in your browser.
When you see the
final page similar too the picture above where you will find as I stated that most of the information
here isn't of much interest too us, the important sections are
- Operating System
- System Model
- Processor
- Main Circuit Board
- Drives (Hard Disk
Information)
- Memory Modules
All the items detailed above should appear at the top of the page, which
you can print off. This page should provide all the information that anyone
should need to know about your computer in order to advise you on upgrading or
buying a faster computer.
